im not one of those ppl who spend hours making builds and experimenting n stuff
i just tried it and it worked
it worked under 50 seconds meaning i got bonus
yet i dont know what bonus is.....
o well

put all attributes into fire
skills i used:

arua of restoration
firestorm
flare
air attunement

first, right b4 i stepped on third rock, i used aor
when i got in, i immediately used firestorm
then i ran around a bit, cause my dopple was using firestorm
then i spammed flare and it was dead

i brought air attunement, so that the dopple could use it and waste time while i used fire storm

for armour, i had droks, so you dont need anything fancy or whatever
same goes for weapon

thats about it.....
everyone probably already ascended already, but whatever

hmm, i don't know if it's harder to ascend now, according to some people, but when I did it, it's pretty easy...

Flare
Air Attunement
Water Attunement
Earth Attunement
Meteor Shower

Just spam the dopple with flare, when he's busy casting attunements. When he casts meteor shower, just run away to avoid it. Resume spamming. Why would you even need lots of money to ascend?

Heh, lucky for you guys. When I went to try to ascend, I had a hard time doing it. I was an elementalist/mesmer at the time, and I stupidly brought along a couple of mesmer skills to use against the doppleganger, without even thinking that he could use it against me. When I finally ascended, I didn't even get the bonus. Heh.
At least the players who come here have help beating their elementalist doppleganger. Good for them.

I wonder though, how did u wand him to death for that long?

I will be amazed if u got the bonus while doing that, i mean killing ur dopple in 50 seconds or less.

i've posted before, e/me is probably the fastest ascender at just under 4 seconds. the obvious would be stacking all 4 attunes, +iron mist if you want, then backfire and some quick damage spell or other to cast after the backfire..

edit: unsure if you can get the doppel to sac as n/ or /n faster. when i ascended my mo/n it took in the area of 10 seconds, considerably slower..

heh, i am curious, what was ur ele's level?
I don't think Saccing works any more since the AI changed.
U cannot asend ur ele in 4 seconds with any thing.
Casting attunes it self is 2 seacond each, backfire can't do enough dmg to kill in 4 seconds, its 2 second cast on its on by the way.

I would like to see an asension in 4 seconds ^_^ with the skill set provided by you as an "obvious" one.

Correct me if i assumed any thing wrong though ^_^
I love asending low level characters, and had a thread created specifically for that purposes. The thread requires pictures ofcourse.

As I just re-did this as an ele...

Attributes (going from memory, may be a bit off):

Healing: 12
Fire: 11 + 1 + 3
rest in energy storage

Skill bar:

Healing Breeze
Flare
Fire Attunement
Glyph of Sacrifice
Meteor Shower

Pre-cast Fire Attunement, Glyph, HB. Step on the last stone. Target and cast MS. Flare spam. If he starts to cast MS, move out of the way. More Flare spam. Win.

It was all over by the third wave of MS.

Edit: Just to add, healing breeze was in no way needed for this. I think he hit me with Flare once, that was it. So any secondary would be viable.

Edit2: It might help to also mention this was a Factions character, so attribute quests were already done, as well as having max armor. Should still work even for a normal Prophecies character though.

Get up close so the double switches to an axe, keep blind and Empathy on him, and /dance.

Strange .. the only thing i did was step aside when his meteor shower was finished cast one myself and he was dead very fast i did use some other spells dont remember what though ..

Zeon cheated. He had droknar's armour, and that's impossible to get if you haven't beaten your doppleganger, unless you get a run.

I don't remember how I beat him, it probably involved empathy and backfire (I use to run illusion hexes when I started on my ele bar because, well, the damage was better and I didn't know what utility was) but apparently I got the bonus, as I have protector of tyria.

share ur attribute and weapon setup ^_^. I do not believe u with the skill set u mentioned. I Wonder though, did ur dopple never use Live Vicariously on it self? If not, i will check it again. wont take me much time to get to him with a new char ^_^. I only recall him not using a HB. Live Vicariously is new.
There is no way u beat dopple to death within 50 seconds for 50k expereince with a WAND.

PS: Any One here who is a MONk or secondary Monk and not asended yet ? kindly confirm this for me if possible. If not, i have to try it on my own.
